Obviously it's been too long since our last time catching up so let's skip the semantics and jump right into what's been going on in the house of Psyclon.
After the last tour with Mushroomhead we all decided to take a long break from the music to focus on trying to repair the "real lives" we had all left behind so long ago... Some longer than others... I personally haven't taken a break in 8 years so I felt that it was time to focus on other projects as well as trying to find out where we were on our path, where to go next and how to get there.
It didn't take very long until writing for the next album began. At first it seemed that we were on the path to put out another generic Psyclon nine release compiled of tracks that would be exactly what you might expect to follow up the last album "Crwn thy Frnicatr". This in itself didn't sit right with me. I personally felt that we had stopped evolving and were just going to push out another album that had no feeling.
a lot has happened since those first few tracks were written and right now I'm listening to an almost completed album full of new ideas that are so different than what would be expected that even I was frightened the first few times listening.
These new songs are by far the darkest, heaviest and emotionally devastating songs that I have ever written.
The only way I could try to explain how it sounds would be a plane crashing into a tall building and the ensuing chaos and grief thereafter.
Now production of the new album hasn't started yet and we're still writing a few new tracks and putting finishing touches on the others but I felt that I needed to share this with you.
So in short: New album / Finishing touches soon / Production and release soon after that
In other news:
The video that was supposed to be released by Christmas was obviously delayed. It is still going to be released. Actually Rick [St1tch] Thomas just overnighted the finished product to me on DVD to let me give him the final thumbs up before we release the thing. So we expect you to see it within the next two weeks.
On another note:
There have been discussions of doing another tour before the new album release to give us a chance to let you hear a few of the new songs before they hit the stores. Nothing confirmed yet so don't hold us to it but if it happens it will be sometime between May and August.
I hope this update cleared the air on a few matters that may have been on your mind.
There's a lot more going on that I can't talk about yet so keep your eyes open.
