Taken from my MySpace bulletin about it
Upon hearing of the new Twilight movie coming out relatively soon, I felt the need to post this. Now, don't accuse me of not reading the series. I've read a bit of the first book, some time ago, and absolutely hated it. The second reason I'm posting this. Feel free to message me about this if you want, but don't expect me to read if you go about insulting me (If you're a Twilight fan)
I do not like Twilight, and it is my belief that no one else should, either. It promotes things that are morally incorrect in our society. To quote the Anti-Twilight Fanclub ( I do not claim any part of this as my own)...
* Purple prose. (Wiki it)
* Mary-Sue (AKA perfect) main character.
* Misuse of words (for example, the infamous misuse of the word "chagrin").
* The lame, corny dialogue that would make even George Lucas cringe. And he wrote Attack of the Clones, people.
* The boring, predictable plot.
* The inherent anti-feminist messages conveyed by Bella's attitude.
* The suggestion that child grooming and pedophilia are okay if it's the offspring of the woman you loved but was stolen from you by some shampire queer.
* Edward, the single most abusive boyfriend in the history of literature.
* Meyer's perversion of the proper vampire myth, thus inspiring me to create a new word for his kind: the Shampire. This is done in a few ways:
o Making Edward and his kind "sparkle" in the sunlight instead of dying.
o Edward considering himself a "vegetarian" vampire, only consuming the blood of smaller, non-sentient animals.
o Bella's desire to become one. Really, no novel character should want to become the living dead.
* The fact that despite Meyer's insistence that Bella is average looking, not too bright, and really kind of boring, every guy in her new school is completely crazy about her on her first day.
* The glaringly obvious fact that Bella is based on Meyer herself. Meyer seems to have a rather high opinion of herself, no?
...that would seem bad enough, right? Wrong. That's the tip of the iceberg. There are so many things wrong, that even the actors who played Bella and Edward don't even want to be in the upcoming movies, and from what I hear, blatantly make fun of Stephenie Meyer for her flawed series.

And it's accurate, straight from someone who has (To my memory - I could be mistaken) read every single one of the available books in this series.
But that's not all.
Encyclopedia Dramatica's article on Twilight (There may be some naughty advertisements on the side panel-thing, but don't mind them):

All of that should tell you why the series is no good.
And now...onto the die-hard fans, the "Twitards" (Or "Twihards").
With the behavior of a piranha, Twitards are some of the most vicious fans I've ever heard of. Attempted murder for simply saying "No, Twilight's not my thing"? Yeah, they went there.

And this is the end. I fear the future, if this is what humanity is being reduced to (As if without Twilight we weren't bad enough).
